Dr Aseem Malhotra: Is it time to bring back the fat?

I’m delighted to share that for the next couple of weeks I’ll be touring three major Australian cities, speaking on some of the major health topics of the modern era.
I’ll be answering questions in relation to the impact of sugar on obesity and heart disease:

What led to the recent announcement of a sugary drinks tax in the UK?

How much fat should we be eating? Should we be avoiding saturated fat altogether to protect us from heart disease?

How effective are cholesterol lowering statin drugs and should we be taking these pills at all?

It’s an honour to be speaking alongside some prolific health activists:

Brilliant film maker and the star of “That Sugar Film” Damon Gameau whom I had the pleasure of meeting on several occasions on his recent tour to the UK including being involved in a discussion about his movie on BBC News.

It was also a special privilege to be on a panel with the shadow Public Health Minister Luciana Berger at a parliamentary screening of Damon’s game changing documentary towards the end of last year.

Christine Cronau is a nutritionist and best selling author who has been exceptional at organising such a great event at short notice. She will be talking about the launch of her latest book.

And last but by no means least the inspirational and very courageous investigative journalist with ABC Catalyst, Dr Maryanne Demasi who will be hosting all the events.

If you’re not afraid of controversy, and the subjects of sugar, fat and statins are of interest to you, there are some tickets still available, which you can purchase by clicking here.
